Prince’s William and Harry battled with lightsabers and hugged a Wookie on the set of the next “Star Wars” movie on Tuesday. The royal brothers were given a tour of the Pinewood Studios set in England by British actress Daisy Ridley, who plays heroine Rey in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

During the visit they met Mark Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker, and other cast and characters including Chewbacca and BB-8.

Kensington Palace said Tuesday’s visit was to salute the British creative talent involved in the “Star Wars” films, which have used British studios, actors, craftspeople and technicians since the 1970s.

Actors John Boyega and Daisy Ridley spoke to reporters about meeting Prince William and Prince Harryon the set of Star Wars: Episode VIII at Pinewood Studios.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” breakout Daisy Ridley and producer J.J. Abrams are planning to reteam on “Kolma,” a fantasy thriller that “Diary of a Teenage Girl” filmmaker Marielle Heller is in negotiations to direct for Paramount, TheWrap has exclusively learned.

Kolma” is based on Keren Margalit’s 2003 Israeli movie of the week titled “All I’ve Got” (“Kol Ma She’Yesh Li”). Described as a cross between a loftier, more mystical version of “The Notebook” and Albert Brooks‘ 1991 fantasy romance “Defending Your Life,” the project follows a young couple who get in a car accident that leaves the man dead. Decades later, the old woman must choose whether to reunite with her long-lost love in the afterlife or return to the fateful day her life changed forever.

IMDb offers a complete plot synopsis of “All I’ve Got,” though the story could certainly change in the U.S. remake “Kolma,” which Abrams is producing with Ram Bergman (“Star Wars: Episode VIII”), Sherryl Clark (“Cloverfield”) and David Lonner (“Dope”). The most recent draft of the script was written by Megan Holley. Other scribes who previously worked on the project include Rolin Jones, Karen Moncrieff and Sarah Polley.

Paramount executive Elizabeth Raposo will oversee the project on behalf of the studio, while Lindsey Weber will oversee on behalf of Bad Robot.

The “Kolma” budget is expected to be between $60 million and $70 million — enough to allow for impressive visual effects while keeping the scale of the film relatively modest. Ridley hasn’t carried a movie outside of the “Star Wars” franchise yet, but the mid-range budget means she won’t be pressured to launch a tentpole. Abrams’ name as a producer certainly helps, as it did with Paramount’s $25 million opening weekend for “10 Cloverfield Lane.”

Every studio in town has courted Ridley for high-profile roles, but it makes sense that Abrams would get first-crack at the in-demand actress, considering he helped launch her to stardom with the role of Rey in “The Force Awakens.”

Daisy Ridley took home the best breakthrough performance award at the MTV Movie Awards for her role as the lightsaber-wielding heroine Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

“It feels especially amazing to be part of a film that represents all genders – two genders – all races and all ages in a positive way,” Ridley said as she accepted the award.

The weekend was extra special for Ridley, who turned 24 on Sunday.

“Bringing in my 24th year with JJ @mtv Movie Awards!” Ridley captioned an Instagram photo of herself alongside director J.J. Abrams. “Thank you so much to everyone that voted for Breakthrough and Movie #starwars #theforceawakens.”

Daisy Ridley may have hit the motherlode of film franchises when the then-virtual unknown was cast in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but the 23-year-old Brit actress is in the running for another icon: Lara Croft. Deadline understands that the fresh-faced Ridley is one of a number of actresses being considered for the Tomb Raider reboot that Warner Bros and MGM are partnering on to produce and release, with GK Films’ Graham King producing.

While conversations have taken place, this is still very early and there have been no official negotiations or offer yet, with the producers keeping their options wide open at this stage. This is one of THE plum gigs out there for a young actress. The role was famously played by Angelina Jolie at her most kick-ass and pneumatic. Based on the long-running video game franchise, Tomb Raider follows the English archaeologist Lara Croft through a series of adventures heavily inspired by Indiana Jones (and, to a lesser extent, Allan Quartermaine).

The latest adaptation, which has been in development for several years, received a jolt of adrenaline when the video game series was rebooted by game developer Square Enix with 2013’s Tomb Raider, which depicted Croft’s first adventure as an archaeology student, and follow-up Rise Of The Tomb Raider. That younger take on the character’s origin and path to derring-do are believed to have given the film’s producers some creative guidance.

Cassidy Lange is overseeing for MGM, with Drew Crevello doing so for Warners. Denis O’Sullivan of GK Films is overseeing the production.

Ridley, currently shooting Star Wars: Episode VIII, is repped by CAA. Her only confirmed post-Star Wars gig to date is her coming aboard The Eagle Huntress documentary as an exec producer.
