It seems the plant-based movement has blown up so much that it has reached galaxies far, far away, as Star Wars lead actor Daisy Ridley revealed she is a vegan in a recent interview with the Irish men’s lifestyle website, JOE.ie.

Ridley expressed gratitude for vegan dining options while balancing the hectic promotion schedule of the new movie. You can watch the full interview below.

Apparently, Ridley is an animal lover, as she has a rescue dog named Muffin who is blind and deaf. There is also a moment in the latest Star Wars film in which Chewbacca refuses to eat a dead animal carcass, likening it to his Porg alien animal friends.

Netflix has just swooped in and locked down Daisy Ridley for her upcoming superhero-themed project, which they outbid Disney for recently, titled “Super-Normal.”

Super-Normal is, a Josh Gad superhero movie “intended to be a character-driven, subversive take on a genre,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. The idea, which Gad went in on with live action Beauty and the Beast companion Luke Evans, reportedly received a lot of buzz and even an offer from Disney before Netflix finally landed it.

Side note: Super-Normal, with the main cast of Ridley, Gad, and Evans are all recently or currently in Disney movies, as well as scriptwriters Aaron and Jordan Kandell, who worked on Moana.

We are happy to see Daisy Ridley in a superhero movie, especially one that’s attempting a fresh take on the genre. Meanwhile, Josh Gad is probably just happy to have another shot at getting Star Wars secrets out of Ridley. There’s no real details yet on the story or the characters, but we’ll keep you all informed as more details are released.

The new trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi released tonight during Monday Night Football — and it did not disappoint. With their lightsabers in hand and their trusty droids at their side, fans were treated to a brand new — and gut-wrenchingly shocking — look at the highly anticipated installment of Star Wars.

The new trailer gives us glimpses of Rey’s (Daisy Ridley) intense Jedi training with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) that somehow scares him. We see Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) throw his tantrums and General Leia (the late Carrie Fisher) show growing concern over the galaxy. It also seems that Finn (John Boyega) is back to good health as he goes toe-to-toe with Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie). Poe (Oscar Isaac) is also back in action as is Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) with a Porg — a new cute creature for the Star Wars universe — by his side. We also see a very wrinkly look at the evil Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis). Ew. Nonetheless, it all ends with an omg! really? shocking moment where it looks as if Rey is joining the Dark Side.

The film also sees the return of Maz Kanata (Lupita Nyong’o), General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson),  Lieutenant Connix (Billie Lourd) as well as new members of the intergalactic cast include Benicio Del Toro and Laura Dern.

In addition to the trailer, a new poster for the movie came out:

The Last Jedi opens in theaters on December 15 with tickets going on sale tonight.

Daisy Ridley has signed on to star in the drama “Daddio,” Variety has reported.

Christy Hall wrote the script, which follows a woman who is picked up by a cab at JFK airport and driven to her apartment in Manhattan. On the way there, the woman and cabdriver begin discussing their past and current relationships and the effects those relationships have had on their lives.

CAA is arranging financing and will represent the film’s domestic distribution rights.

Next up for Daisy is Fox’s star-studded adaptation of Murder on the Orient Express, opening in November, and Disney’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, out in December. She also stars in Claire McCarthy’s Hamlet re-imagining, Ophelia, and Lionsgate’s adaptation of Chaos Walking, opposite Tom Holland, and is part of the voice cast of Sony’s live-action/animated hybrid Peter Rabbit starring James Corden. She will also reprise her role as Rey in Star Wars: Episode IX, which will begin production in June 2018.

Daisy Ridley is repped by CAA and attorney Shelby Weiser.

Daisy Ridley recently shared a new on set image of her and actor Tom Holland from their upcoming movie “Chaos Walking” on her Facebook page. We have added it to the gallery.

Here’s what you know about Peter Rabbit, even if you don’t think you know anything about the beloved Beatrix Potter creation: he’s bad, but because he’s a cute little bunny, he’s also good. The star of Potter’s many tales about a darling family of anthropomorphic garden dwellers is now the recipient of his very own hybrid origin story, one that features no less than James Corden voicing the fluffy bunny. And no, he’s still not wearing any pants.

In “Peter Rabbit,” Sony Pictures Animation’s “irreverent, contemporary comedy with attitude” about the little dude, Peter’s long-standing feud with Mr. McGregor (Domhnall Gleeson, who seems to be hellbent on dominating the space of “beloved kid lit classics, reinvented for the big screen” these days) takes on a new dimension when the pair battle over a charming new neighbor (Rose Byrne), who apparently also adores animals. Looks like the mean Mr. McGregor is going to have to overcome his issues with Peter and his pals, or lose out on love forever.

And yet, you can’t totally blame him, as the film’s first trailer plays up both Peter’s naughty behavior (now, with a weird, contemporary edge) and how it inspires the other animals around him to act out, like by throwing a party in McGregor’s house and totally destroying it in the process. Don’t you guys live outside?

Margot Robbie, Elizabeth Debicki, and our Daisy Ridley are on deck to voice Peter’s triplet sisters, Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail, while Sam Neill will also appear in the film. Check out the trailer below, thanks to Yahoo! Movies.

The animated comedy opens in theaters on February 9, 2018.

A brand new poster for the highly anticipated movie Murder on the Orient Express featuring the film’s star-studded cast was just released!

Kenneth Branagh, Penelope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Josh Gad, Derek Jacobi, Leslie Odom Jr., Michelle Pfeiffer, Daisy Ridley, Lucy Boynton, and Sergei Polunin are the stars featured on the poster.

The film tells the tale of thirteen strangers stranded on a train, where everyone’s a suspect. One man must race against time to solve the puzzle before the murderer strikes again.

Murder on the Orient Express, based on the best-selling novel by Agatha Christie, will hit theaters on November 10.

This December brings Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which will continue the main story of the franchise, while also finally bringing Luke back to the silver screen in a substantial role. Daisy Ridley‘s Rey will presumably be hanging with Luke in Ach-To for a while, with the Jedi Master, in a similar way to the time spent with Harrison Ford’s Han Solo in The Force Awakens. And it turns out that Han’s loss will still be weighing on the new hero, especially because Luke will apparently be so miserable. Daisy Ridley said:

“Oh my God, this other man that I lost within a couple days was somewhat of a father figure. Now he’s gone, and instead I’m with this grumpy guy on an island who doesn’t want me here.”

Daisy Ridley‘s comments, which are from EW, actually sound like a great way of keeping Rey’s Star Wars journey fresh and exciting. If Rey got along with Luke as easily as she did with Han, then The Last Jedi would likely feel a bit too similar to its predecessor. Instead, Luke will be busy throwing himself an intergalactic pity party with the alien caretakers, and Rey will have to convince him to not only rejoin the Resistance, but train her as a padawan. And it sounds like that’s not going to be easy.

Han Solo’s mentorship of Rey was one of the highlights of The Force Awakens, as the two appeared to have quite a few things in common. For instance, she instantly knew how to operate the Millennium Falcon, despite the ship being out of commission for a number of years. Additionally, Chewbacca took an instant liking to her, which is rare for the Wookie.

Speaking of the Falcon, it looks like the ship that made the Kessel Run in fourteen parsecs is now officially Rey’s, which is another way that Han’s influence will be felt when The Last Jedi arrives in theaters. Rey, Chewie, and R2-D2 traveled to Ach-To together, and she is likely the only person besides Lando who knows how to really operate the Falcon. Rey is now looking after Han’s best friend and ship, which is a fantastic way to keep the smuggler’s spirit in the heart of the film.

We’ll just have to wait and see how much Han is mentioned when Star Wars: The Last Jedi finally arrives in theaters. For the sake of the fans, I’m hoping that we at least get one solid scene with Leia grieving her lover’s death, as her loss wasn’t featured prominently in The Force Awakens.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi will fly into theaters on December 15th.

Nick Jonas, Tom Holland, and Daisy Ridley are all starring in a movie together! The trio will join forces for Lionsgate’s post-apocalyptic thriller Chaos Walking, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

Doug Liman will direct the film, based on the best-selling YA novel by Patrick Ness.

The story is set “on a colony planet where almost all women have been killed by a virus and all living creatures are struck by ‘The Noise,’ a virus which inflicts immersive visions of ones’ every thought. The cacophony drives many mad until a young man (Tom) makes a silent discovery: There is a girl (Daisy) who may be the key to unlocking the New World’s many layered secrets.”

Nick will play Davy Prentiss Jr., “a young soldier in Mayor Prentiss’ army fueled by jealousy over his father’s (Mads Mikkelson) mentorship of long-time rival Todd Hewitt (Tom).”

Demian Bichir and Kurt Sutter also star. Chaos Walking is set to hit theaters on March 1, 2019!
