Daisy Ridley posed with her character’s stamp from the Royal Mail’s new Star Wars collection at the recent event in London. Eighteen stamps have been issued to celebrate Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, featuring nine iconic characters from the Star Wars saga films and three from the upcoming release.

Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Emperor Palpatine, Boba Fett and a stormtrooper feature on the first-class stamps, illustrated by British artist Malcolm Tween.

In a nod to the hotly anticipated seventh film, new characters Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) have also received their own stamp.

A miniature sheet with six vehicles and spaceships from the series, set against the landscape of the Death Star, has also been released.

The stamps are available at www.royalmail.com/starwars and from 8,000 Post Office branches across the UK.

Very few people had heard of Daisy Ridley before director JJ Abrams handpicked her to star in the brand new Star Wars film. The actress – who had made small appearances in Casualty and Mr Selfridge – was catapulted into the spotlight in 2014 when it was announced she would be joining the likes of Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson and many more in the brand new Star Wars film.

Ridley plays Rey who features heavily in the latest trailer for The Force Awakens, released in the States overnight. But while many Americans watched it at halftime during an ESPN football game, she set an alarm and got her first glimpse curled up in bed at a B&B. The 23-year-old tasked her friend with capturing her initial reaction on camera and it’s really rather sweet…

The official trailer of JJ Abrams’s highly anticipated Star Wars installment, The Force Awakens, has been unleashed and opens with a masked figure seen scaling the gigantic interior of blackened ruins. A voiceover poses the compelling question: “Who are you?”

Without ever completely answering that question, the trailer, which premiered on the sports cable network ESPN during halftime of the Monday night NFL game, appears to establish who the film’s three lead characters are.

At two minutes and 23 seconds long, this latest trailer is the longest preview yet of the film. The seventh episode in the series picks up three decades after the events of Return of the Jedi (1983) and, as the trailer shows, features many of the characters from the original trilogy.

JJ Abrams’s space opera will premiere in Los Angeles on 14 December – a few days before it opens worldwide, on 17 December in the UK and Australia, and in the following day in the US.

Cinema websites in the UK have already crashed under the weight of demand for first screenings of the film, which will have a running time of 136 minutes.

We have added another beautiful outtake of Daisy from the D23 Expo – ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Portraits taken back in August 2015.

Daisy Ridley looks to the skies in new Star Wars The Force Awakens teaser trailer…

The biggest movie of the year now has a fittingly epic theatrical poster to go with it. The official poster for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” was unveiled online Sunday — and it perfectly captures the longstanding divide between the light and dark sides of the Force.

Legendary characters Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) are front and center in the action-packed placard, as are new stars Rey (Daisy Ridley) and the lightsaber-wielding Finn (John Boyega).

Looming over their shoulders, however, is the menacing new villain Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), whose innovative three-pronged red-lightsaber is on full display.

An army of storm troopers, the venerable Millennium Falcon and a cast of non-human heroes such as C-3PO, R2-D2 and Chewbacca also grace the awe-inspiring poster.

The film company also announced that tickets for “The Force Awakens,” as well as those for a seven-movie marathon culminating in the new film’s premiere on Dec. 17, will go on sale online for select theaters on TODAY.

We now have nearly 2,500 photos in the gallery. We spend last week collecting all the missing images and screencapping various interviews etc of Daisy. Head on over to check out these and more…
