Daisy Ridley stars in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ as ‘Rey’. About a month ago, we learned of the names of the characters that are featured in the teaser trailer for the upcoming ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ film – John Boyega as Finn, Daisy Ridley as Rey, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, the cloaked guy as Kylo Ren, and the ever-so-cute droid BB-8. In a recent report by Starwars7news.com, it looks like Daisy Ridley’s character will be involved in a major plot twist.

It was reported that the name ‘Rey’ would only be an alias for Daisy Ridley’s character at the beginning of the film, and that her real name would surface in a plot twist by the conclusion of the film. Many fans suggest that Rey could be the daughter of Han Solo and Leia Skywalker – which is quite possible, given that Daisy Ridley resembles both Natalie Portman (who played Padme Amidala in the prequel trilogy) and Carrie Fisher, who portrays ‘Queen’ Leia in the upcoming film.

Other theories and speculations include:

Han Solo may die in this movie. The website Making Star Wars went deep into this after a trusted source provided them details of what was shot at Pinewood. According to their source, Han Solo would confront Kylo Ren at the ramparts of the Evil Castle, to which the latter would silence the conversation forever.

There would be a character named ‘Original Warrior’.

Luke Skywalker will only appear in a scene at the conclusion of the movie when a character named

‘Kira’ would return his lightstaber.

‘Queen’ Leia will be in a leadership role and would have something up her sleeve codenamed the’Sledgehammer’ to combat the Empire’s ‘Catapult’.

‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ opens in theaters on December 18, 2015.

Daisy Ridley’s Rey is Harrison Ford’s Han Solo’s daughter. She is protecting the lightsaber that holds the key to open the tomb. Rey falls in love with Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron, but Han disapproves of the relationship.

Domhnall Gleeson has revealed he only watched the original Star Wars trilogy after signing on to star in the seventh film. The Frank star has been tight-lipped about his upcoming appearance in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, alongside the franchise’s original cast members Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford. But he told the Daily Mail that he only saw the famous, original Star Wars films from start to finish after being cast in the hotly-anticipated new movie.

“‘I did like Star Wars when I was a kid. I saw the prequels first, I didn’t see the full original films first all the way through,” he said.

“So I went back and watched them all on a big screen after I got cast, and that made me incredibly excited about it. I loved every second.”

Domhnall, who next stars in Alex Garland’s sci-fi thriller Ex Machina, said he had to quell his fanboy side when he went on the Star Wars set.

“I am (a fan) but the only way for me to do my job is to treat it like a job and just try and kill it,” he told Metro. “I mean, it’s amazing how much they built the sets, it gives you a sense of the grandeur of those movies.

“When you see the actual sets built for Star Wars, that’s pretty cool,” he added.

John Boyega, Adam Driver, Andy Serkis and Daisy Ridley will also star in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which is directed by JJ Abrams. The film opens in cinemas in December.

The first trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens sparked worldwide excitement, and provided fans with a glimpse of new characters including Finn (John Boyega) and Rey (Daisy Ridley), as well as a new rollerball droid, a revamped Millennium Falcon and mysterious villain Kylo Ren. But there was no sign of Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia – three main characters from the original Star Wars trilogy, all of whom have key roles in JJ Abrams’s film.

Anxious fans can now breathe a sign of relief. 32 years after they last appeared together in a Star Wars film, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher will all feature in the next trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, according to a report from Latino Review.

Hamill, who was 25 years old when the first Star Wars film was released in the summer of 1977, is now 63. Ford (who was 34) is 72, and Fisher (who was 20) is 58.

If Ford’s Han Solo appears in the trailer, it also seems likely that we might get a glimpse of another character from the old films: British actor Peter Mayhew is reprising his role as Solo’s Wookiee buddy Chewbacca for Abrams’s movie. Fans are also speculating that droids R2-D2 and C-3PO might also show up.

The new trailer will be shown with Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, released on May 1.

Bookmaker William Hill has predicted that Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be the highest grossing movie of 2015, outmuscling the forthcoming instalments of both the Avengers and James Bond franchises.

In its rundown of the biggest films of the year the bookmaker makes the forthcoming Disney film, directed by JJ Abrams, a huge odds-on favourite to be the most successful of the year. The other contenders are Avengers: Age of Ultron which will be the 4/1 outsider ahead of Jurassic World at 8/1 with Spectre, the new 007 film coming in fourth with odds of 9/1.

William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly told Crunchsports.com: “After a slow year for blockbusters in 2014, it looks as though 2015 could be the best ever year for movies.”

Last year, Credit Suisse’s Michael Senn predicted that the film would take $1.2bn at the box office, StarWars7News.com reports. This week, Cowan & Co. projected the exact same figure. But FBR Capital Markets goes further and says the film would likely take in $700m domestically and another $1bn overseas.

Some analysts say that the hotly anticipated film may even outperform those expectations, and could go on to be the highest grossing film of all time. To do so it would have to top James Cameron’s Avatar, which made $2.8bn when it was released in 2009.
